It is essential for professionals in the sector to know how to use a variety of techniques and tools to facilitate the communication and expression of the child.
The expressive arts involve the use of artistic tools and materials, such as drawing, collage, painting, sculpture, modeling of clay and plasticine which represent alternative and non-threatening means of expression compared to openly talking about emotions, thoughts and personal events.
Upon completion of the module, participants should be able to:
- Helping children bring out thoughts and model behaviors to achieve established therapeutic goals;
- Have the knowledge of basic skills to use expressive arts within the CBPT intervention;
- Learn about different activities with the use of expressive arts to be integrated into the therapeutic project.
